Happy Birthday to Agnes!!!
Banoffee pie is a British dessert, began in the early 70s by Hungry Monks. Sue asked me if I made the dessert some years ago. As so, I learnt to make one for her and Po. And till now, it has been years. Time flies. This time, the pie is made to thank a colleague who spared time to have a discussion with me. Very nice of him! He never heard of Banoffee Pie. A brief discussion on the pie and an offer between it and Chocolate Sour Cream Cake. Both seems good. OK, let’s go for the pie, though I am not 100% sure if he likes banana. Never mind, Coach‘s culture, try out and learn!
1 350g tin of condensed milk
3 large bananas
150g oreo (grounded)
300 ml whipping cream
50 g dark chocolate
60g butter, melted
It begins from caramelise the condensed milk. If you go for normal boiling, it will take 2 hours. I used a pressured cooking way, half hour and then let cool.
Mix the ground oreo with the melted butter. Spread it over a 23 cm pie pan. Press it till it fille the rim. Chill it for 15 minutes.
Slice the bananas and lay it on top of the pie base.
Pour the caramelised condensed milk on top. Chill it for 20 minutes.
Whip the cream until soft peaks form. Spread it over the pie.
Sprinkle grated chocolate over the pie. Enjoy!
