Thought of making earl grey swiss roll. Prepared infused tea leaves in milk overnight. Auh ooh, no baking paper at home. Hmm, let’s make scones for breakfast. Dash with strawberry jam. An energised day with gladness.
As far as I know, scones can be made of egg or cream along with the other ingredients. This one is made with cream. This is more moist. Experience tells the norm is towards dry. Anyway, a nice trial and sharing with friends.
80ml whipping cream
45ml milk infused with earl grey tea leaves, grating with blending machine
250g plain flour
1/2 baking powder
Pinch of salt
50 g butter
Preheat oven to 220 degree
Sift flour and baking powder and add the sea salt
Rub in the butter rub knead lightly, mix with the tea leaves infused milk and whipping cream to a soft dough.
Roll to 2cm, trim with a cookie cutter and glaze with egg wash
Bake for about 15 mins before cooling on a wire tray
Enjoy with honey, whipped cream or jam. A cup of tea as well! A good day!
