This lovely little cake was experimented prior to a walk organized by the church, scheduled first Sunday in autumn and winter time. Everyone should take water and snacks. And this lovely creature is for friends and myself. The walk was nice. A fantastic sea view docking with boats at the beginning and little bit demanding up and down walk in shaded forest (not the huge one in Europe or the US).
70g butter (room temperature)
2 large eggs
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp matcha (green tea powder)
Zest of one orange
Preheat the oven to 165C. Grease the bottom and sides of a 21cm loaf pan.
Beat butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift the flour and combine it with baking powder.
Fold in the flour mixture until just incorporated, in two batches.
Divide batter in two halves and add matcha to one of them (mix the green tea powder with a bit of warm water before that).
Alternatively layer matcha and butter cream batter into prepared loaf pan.
Bake for about one hour, or until toothpick comes out clean.
